Laborers 177 Joins the Fight to Stamp Out Hunger Across the Des Moines Metro
Laborers 177 VOC showed up in full force to support Stamp Out Hunger Day with United Way Central IA & DMARC!
Our volunteers were stationed at 8 Hy-Vee and Fareway stores across the Des Moines Metro, helping collect food donations and hand out flyers to support families facing food insecurity.

Standing in Solidarity: Laborers Rally in Pierre, SD for Pipeline Union Jobs
Laborers 177 was on the ground at the South Dakota State Capitol, standing in solidarity with our fellow Midwest Region Laborers to push for the approval of the Summit Pipeline—a project that means good-paying, union jobs across the Midwest.
With the pipeline already approved in North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota, South Dakota remains the last holdout. We showed up loud and strong to urge lawmakers to do what’s right: approve the project and secure these critical jobs for our union brothers and sisters at Local 620.
We fight for jobs. We fight for fair wages. And we fight for a stronger future—because when we rise together, we win together.
