Rob Sand Endorsement

Iowa Laborers' Union Endorsement

Rob Sand is a breath of political fresh air, a decade in the making, in a time of heightened tribalism and political turmoil.

Better and truer, not redder or bluer is a mindset and mentality that our members show everyday when they answer the call to build the next generation of Iowa infrastructure or provide services in the public sector that only our members can provide. It is truly refreshing to have a candidate for office that truly values, understands and appreciates the back-breaking work that our members engage in day after day. Rob has given us his commitment to working with us to improve the lives and working conditions of all workers in the State.

We, as leaders of the Iowa Laborers’ Union, urgently believe that Rob is the best chance we have of bringing stability and common sense back to the Executive Branch of the Iowa Legislature. Our members and the people of this State are long overdue for a change in leadership, problem-solving and decision-making. We are all longing for change.

For too long the workers of this State have been under intense legislative assault. For too long the workers of this State have been disregarded and put on the back burner in favor of policy projects that benefit special interest groups. For too long the workers of this State have invested in a State that has disinvested in them as reflected by the laws being passed by the current administration and legislature. This all ends when we elect Rob Sand as Governor and assist him in implementing a pro-worker, pro-Union, pro-middle-class agenda focused on all, not a few.

For the reasons mentioned above, and on behalf of the 3,500 members of the Iowa Laborers’ Union, we enthusiastically endorse Rob Sand to be the next Governor of the Great State of Iowa.
